Today the CCAP bunch gathered for their final day of the house build. They have done an amazing job. Being a part of building a house from the ground up is a true learning experience. Habitat for Humanity was delighted with the outcome and announced they will continue their partnership with the Carlton Apprenticeship Program.

Wow…the Habitat for Humanity House is nearing completion! The mudding is complete and the students have begun painting. The casings arrived today and will soon be ready to be put in place.

Today the crew was working on putting up drywall in the basement. I managed to catch them finishing the ceiling. The stairs were being built for the deck….and wow look at those corners! Check out the math kids…and you think you wont ever use it again!

The CCAP crew defied the blustery weather and started building a deck! The entire main floor of the house has been drywalled and mudding is almost complete. Now to get some heat going!

As I walked through the house today taking pictures, I saw a team of young adults working together to make a family’s dream come true. The framing is done,  plumbing is being installed and the electrical work is complete. Today they were putting in the insulation.

The siding is being put on the house already! The electrical work has been completed. Looks like they will be ready to insulate soon. The build is going along very smoothly. The crew is very fortunate the weather has been extremely cooperative the last few weeks.

The CCAP crew has been making tremendous progress on the house!

On September 9, 2010 a sod turning ceremony took place at the site of the Habitat for Humanity build. In attendance were the CCAP crew, along with representatives from Habitat For Humanity. Pictured below are the smiling faces of these folks as well as the Wall family, and a very soggy building site!
